Dark and Romantic Elopement AT Cannon Beach, Oregon

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is getting to witness love stories unfold right before my lens. I get to see how they start, how they grow, and how they weather the hard things together. Every couple brings a story entirely their own, and every time I’m reminded of just how lucky I am to do this job.

When I learned that Nadine and Caleb would be modeling an elopement on Oregon’s rugged coast, I couldn’t contain my excitement. The Pacific Northwest has always held this magnetic kind of beauty—where mist, sea spray, and moody light meet in the most cinematic way. And this Oregon coast elopement at Cannon Beach captured that magic in full.

Nadine and Caleb traveled from Houston, Texas, to model for Brandi Potter’s Oregon Coastal Retreat, where a small group of photographers gathered to create, learn, and celebrate the art of storytelling. We spent three days capturing their connection in the most breathtaking settings—casual portraits on the quiet beach in Gearhart, a dramatic vow reading at Cannon Beach, and the kind of soft, intimate moments that unfold when the day winds down and the house grows quiet.

We stayed in Gearhart with some of the most talented photographers I’ve had the honor of collaborating with. There’s something special about being surrounded by that much creativity—sharing ideas, chasing light, and capturing stories that feel like poetry.

For the elopement itself, Nadine wore a sleeved gown with a flowing, romantic silhouette that moved beautifully against the wind. Caleb’s deep green suit and orange moth tie complemented her perfectly—a nod to nature’s tones and textures that fit the Oregon coast so effortlessly.

The weather that day was everything you’d hope for from a Cannon Beach elopement—moody skies, rolling fog, and a softness in the air that made every frame feel like it was pulled from a dream. The light wrapped around them in a way only the Pacific Northwest can deliver, creating that timeless, painterly quality that makes Oregon such an unforgettable elopement destination.

There’s a kind of peace that comes with eloping by the ocean—the sound of the waves, the mist in the air, and the feeling that the world has slowed down just for you. For Nadine and Caleb, their Oregon coast elopement wasn’t just about the images—it was about presence, about connection, and about celebrating love in its purest form.
