What to Expect

❋ Small Groups

Once we start photographing, we will split into small groups of 4-8 people led by your directors. Group leads will be solely responsible for directing models.

❋ Intentional Structure

Each scene will be repeated for each group of photographers, so everyone has the same opportunities to photograph the moment. The posing and moments played out are all intentional and planned.

❋ Expert Facilitation

Your directors are acclaimed photographers that are focused on giving you a positive experience. They will be shooting alongside you, so you will get to experience how they work.

❋ An Inclusive Space

Our events prioritize inclusivity, comfort, and respect. All creators are welcome and celebrated. Models will represent these values.

❋ Slow Pacing

We are taking things slow. Workshops can feel overstimulating and overwhelming sometimes, and we know your best work happens when you are grounded and stress-free. There are built-in breaks and slow pacing to account for your peace of mind.

❋ More Than Content

This is not another shallow content day. You should understand the why behind the work. Education is just as important as getting “the shot.” Plus, your clients want to see the full story— from getting ready to dancing the night away. Our models are real couples with real chemistry too.

The Team

A woman with dark hair, tattoos on her arms, and red lipstick, holding a pomegranate, sitting among green foliage and white flowers, wearing a gray off-shoulder top and a bandana.

Milly is a wedding and elopement photographer based in North Alabama, though you can often find her traveling the American South and the Pacific Northwest. Inclusivity and visibility for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and fat (not a bad word , y’all!) people in the wedding industry is Milly’s driving force. Milly strives to give her couples a personal experience while delivering cinematic and editorial photo stories that will be cherished for lifetimes. As an educator, she believes in empowering her mentees to step into their own, to trust their gut, and push boundaries on their creativity. She aims to create a community of like-minded, creative weirdos.

Host
A woman with dark hair and tattoos, wearing a gray t-shirt and black pants, sitting on a wooden chair in front of a brown curtain.

When Brandi first started in photography there were not a lot of options for education. Besides getting a college degree in photography, photographers were pretty much left to their own devices. Brandi spent all of her free time learning, reading photography forums, trying new settings, and annoying every person she knew to let her photograph them. She wants education to be something easier to access.  There are educators out there that only give you the surface level answers, she is not one of them. She loves seeing the people she teaches succeed, and it reminds her that we don't have to do this all alone anymore. Every single one of us is unique and has something good to offer to our clients, she want to help you step into that power.

Educator

Landon Hawkins is a queer photographer based in Portland, Oregon. He travels the world to document queer love in all its forms through an editorial, prop-forward style that blends storytelling with a bold visual aspect. His work is rooted in advocacy and visibility, using photography to celebrate and uplift queer connection across every platform. He is drawn to creating images that spark curiosity and invite people to question what they’re seeing, because if his work makes you pause or rethink something, he has done his job. He is excited to share space with others who are pushing creative boundaries and telling stories that matter.

Kind Words

  • "I genuinely LOVED learning from Milly & getting to capture her creative vision. The styled shoot was so intentional, so beautiful, and SO cool. If it weren't for her workshop, I don't know that I would have figured out how much I love using red light in my own work! I feel like she really gave us an opportunity to capture something different and unique, while also pushing us to be creative with our posing and prompts."

  • "I booked Milly for a 1:1 mentorship and it is one of the best things I have done! As a young photographer my experience had been limited to assisting and booking people I knew through family. During my mentorship I chose to focus on photographing couples as that was something I had very little experience in. We did a portfolio review, she gave me “homework,” and then I got to photograph some of her past clients! I had my last session after the shoot and we went over editing workflow and some Lightroom tips and tricks that I still use to this day. The biggest thing I gained through my experience was more confidence in my own style and being myself while working with clients. My style is different than Milly’s but she never made me feel like I needed to copy her to be successful. This is not a one size fits all mentorship, it’s tailored to you by a professional who values community and appreciates your perspective as an artist."

    —Kendal at Kendal Ln.

  • "Milly’s workshop was a perfect blend of education and styled shoots. I felt like I had plenty of time between groups and everyone got a fair chance with each couple. It’s something I raved about to everyone and I’m so disappointed I can’t make it to this one but so excited (and jealous lol) of everyone that gets admitted the next one."
